Frequently Asked Questions About Counseling
How do I know counseling is right for me?
Counseling is best for individuals, couples, and families who are looking to gain a
better understanding of themselves and improve their quality of life.

Can couples counseling really help my marriage?
Yes. Couples counseling can improve the condition of a relationship and increase your marital/relationship satisfaction.  Counseling will help improve your communication and listening skills, thus strengthening your connection. You will be able to identify and manage major stressors, and shift unhealthy patterns.

What if my spouse isn’t willing to come in?

Couples counseling works best when both partners attend.
However, individual counseling can also impact the quality
of a marriage. When one person in the relationship begins to
react differently, the partner may also begin to change.

How long is a session?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long. I offer 80 minute sessions to couples and families. We will meet on a weekly basis, or more often if needed.

What insurance plans to you take?
I provide a super bill at the end of the month for my clients to submit to their insurance. I often find that insurance companies dictate the duration and type of treatment provided.

Please check your coverage carefully to verify specifics of your particular insurance coverage and ask
the following questions: Do I have mental health benefits? What is my deductible and has it been
met? How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover? How much does my plan cover for
an out-of-network provider? Do you accept super bills? What is the coverage amount per therapy
session? Is approval required from my primary care physician?
